Learning Outcomes
- Create and manage Integration Tokens in your Profile.
- Add AI provider credentials (OpenAI / Gemini / Claude) for AI Insight and Knowledge Builder.
Integration Tokens
Integration Tokens let you store credentials for external tools and services used by Foundry Connect. Depending on your organization and enabled features, Integration Tokens may be used for:
- Source control integrations (for example GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
- Data integrations (for example BaseSpace)
- AI providers (OpenAI, Gemini, and Claude) for AI Insight and Knowledge Builder
Creating an AI integration token (OpenAI / Gemini / Claude)
- Navigate to Account → Profile → Integration Tokens
- Create a new integration token for one of the supported AI providers:
- OpenAI: Requires an OpenAI API key
- Gemini: Requires a Google Gemini API key
- Claude (Anthropic): Requires an Anthropic API key (availability depends on enabled features)
- Save the token with a descriptive name so you can easily select it later in AI Insight.
Claude (Anthropic) and embeddings
Some features (for example Knowledge Builder and report Q&A) require embeddings for retrieval. If you use a Claude (Anthropic) token, you may need to select an embeddings provider token (for example an OpenAI or Gemini token) in the token settings.
No Tokens Available
If you see No AI integration tokens available when trying to use AI Insight:
- Create at least one AI integration token in your profile
- Add credentials for OpenAI, Gemini, or Claude (depending on what your deployment supports)
- Retry opening AI Insight and select the token you created
Security notes
- Treat provider API keys like passwords—store them securely and rotate them if they are exposed.
- Token usage costs are billed by your AI provider. See AI Insight Best Practices and Costs and Knowledge Builder Best Practices and Costs.
