Compute Relative Abundances Specifications
Process Details
- Name:
compute_relative_abundances - Process UUID:

Annotation
Overview
This process calculates the relative abundance of each identified Open Reading Frame (ORF) across all samples in a dataset. The analysis provides quantitative measures of ORF representation, enabling comparative studies of gene expression or functional annotation abundance patterns across multiple biological samples.
This process is implemented in Bash, which invokes a Python script for relative abundance calculations using Pandas.
Key Functionality
- Relative Abundance Calculation: Computes the proportional representation of each ORF across all input samples
- Multi-sample Processing: Handles multiple TSV input files simultaneously for comparative analysis
- Standardized Output: Generates normalized abundance metrics suitable for downstream comparative analyses
